June Summit and Park County Community Insider

I’m very excited to see what summer will hold for us in the Summit and Park County area. Certain COVID-19 guidelines are still in place but the loosening mask requirements are fantastic for many people but especially business owners. It’s also wonderful to see that many festivals and events which were cancelled last year are now coming back. I also think this will be a great summer regarding real estate. The market is still incredibly active, although inventory on homes continues to be low. There is usually an increase in visitors in the summer months, starting around June, and this tends to bring more activity to the real estate market as well. But for now, here’s some fun news and great events happening in June in the Summit and Park County area!

Keystone Bacon & Bourbon Festival

The Keystone Summer Festivals are back this year and they’re starting the summer with the Keystone Bacon & Bourbon Festival. This weekend-long event takes place June 26-27 and will, of course, feature lots of bacon and bourbon. There will be plenty of free live music for you to enjoy on River Run Village’s streets as well. Tickets are available online right now and there are two different ticket options for those under and over 21. The Hungry Hog package is 21+ and includes 10 festival bacon dishes, 10 bourbon samples on the Bourbon tour, 2 festival beers or lemonades, and a 10th anniversary commemorative mug! You can buy tickets, view the full schedule and music line-up, and read up on their COVID-19 guidelines here

Fairplay Brat-T-Gras Community Block Party

If you’re in the Park County area, head to Fairplay on June 26th to join their Brat-T-Gras Community Block Party from 4 to 9pm. Due to COVID-19 many people had to miss out on Mardi Gras so Fairplay is celebrating it in June with brats, beads and friendly people! This is an outdoor event and there will be food available from local restaurants as well as a beer and wine tent. You can also enjoy live music on the street! The party will be on Front Street between 4th and 6th.

Summer Activities Copper Mountain

Copper Mountain summer activities open up on June 11th! Passes will go on sale soon so you can save some money on all the fun activities available. You can choose to buy an individual day pass or a family pass. These passes include scenic chairlift rides, a ride on the Rock Mountain Coaster, Woodward Wrecktangle and Quad Power Jump, paddle boat sessions, zip line rides and more! If you’re looking for a fun day out, this is a great option. And if you’re trying to find something exciting to do on Father’s Day you can always check out the Copper Creek Golf Course too. Summit Stage Buses Back to 100% Capacity!

It was recently released that the Summit Stage buses are now running at 100% passenger capacity. They were previously running at reduced capacity due to COVID-19 but with vaccination rates increasing, things are improving. Masks are still required however and social distancing is encouraged, in line with official directives. The Summit Stage has also switched over to the 2021 summer schedule so make sure to keep that in mind if you’re planning on taking the bus. This bus system is great because it’s so easy to use, free for all passengers, reduces traffic and it’s better for the environment. So if you want an easy way to get around Summit County this summer, don’t forget about the Summit Stage buses!
