What Kind of a Seller Are You?

There are many reasons that people sell their homes. What most people don’t consider initially, is that the motive behind selling will have an effect on when it’s best for you to list. What kind of seller are you? Are you selling your home because your family is expanding and you need more room? Do you want to move so your children can attend school in a better district? Or have you done well financially and you’re looking to move to somewhere that better fits your current lifestyle?

Perhaps you’re now empty nesters or retirees that are looking to downsize. Maybe you want to sell because you need to move closer to family or into a quieter neighborhood. Perhaps you’re hoping the sale of your home will help you during your retirement as you move into a smaller home.

Timing is Everything

The big question you need to ask yourself is are you a seller who needs to sell right now or a seller who is happy to take their time and test the market? It’s important to think about what your long-term goals are and what your timeline is. This will help you decide if you are ready to sell your home in Summit or Park Counties. Once you’ve determined your timeline to sell it will be much easier to vet Realtors, declutter and otherwise get ready to put your home on the market.
